Hyperhidrosis Memories: First Reader Shares a Memory
Posted by: · on September 28, 2010 | CommentsEarlier today I invited you readers to share your memories of hyperhidrosis…
Rising to that challenge is my friend Melissa, who shares a very poignant memory, which she calls…
Type Cast
.
Anyone want to go next???I do, I do!Although it’s not my earliest memory, it’s definitely one that stands out in my mind.
Fifth grade.
Typing class.
I remember the cardboard cases slid over our hands to assist with developing proper typing strokes without relying on looking at the keyboard.
While most kids were fixated on peeking, I was relieved I had something to mask the beads of sweat accumulating into puddles on each and every key.
I was too shy to carry a towel to wipe it down before the next class came in.
“Ewww, Melissa the keyboard is all wet!”
The look of horror on their faces.
One little boy in particular was always pointing it out – the beauty of assigned seating.
Seven years later he apologized in writing when he signed my senior yearbook.

Hyperhidrosis And My Random Memories
Posted by: · on September 28, 2010 | CommentsStarting this website has been an adventure for me on so many levels… Writing about all the various angles of this disorder and mining my memory bank has prompted streams of random hyperhidrosis-related thoughts and memories running through my head….
So. I have decided to let the critters out, for my own peace of mind and the amusement of others. I think many of you will be able to identify with some of my memories, and perhaps I can inspire you to allow your memories to see the light of day.
Herewith, the New Category… “Memories”.
HERE’S THE CATCH: I will share my own, but I am formally inviting YOU to contribute yours. Here is a safe, anonymous-if-you-want-it-to-be, simple venue for you to let-er rip!
Simply go to my “Contact” page and send me your thoughts, and I will post them here on my blog page and categorize them under “Memories”. Specify whether you want your name included or not. Easy and therapeutic!

Here’s MY first Random Memory…
I remember walking on the playground at school
Alone
It is a raw, cold winter’s day
My boots cannot keep away the cold but the cold cannot keep away the sweat
My feet feel like two lumps of ice
My hands shoved in my pockets
Icy and wet, in a ball
My mittens are damp
I do not understand why this is happening in my body
And I know enough to be too ashamed to ask
I keep it to myself
Anyone want to go next???
